We had a real phishing attempt recently that was way too convincing.
Someone registered a lookalike domain that was missing one letter: an “I”.
Then they copied the owner’s email signature (name, title, formatting: everything) and emailed a request to send money.
That’s typosquatting + impersonation in a nutshell: small detail, big risk.
How to stay safe (and keep your team from getting burned):
1) Slow down on money requests. Verify via a known phone number: always.
2) Hover + read the domain carefully. One missing character is all it takes.
3) Require MFA on email accounts (non-negotiable).
4) Use internal payment approval rules (two-person approval works wonders).
5) Train your team regularly: phishing isn’t an “IT problem,” it’s a people problem.
